We are grateful to the Lord that our Order is expanding its mission in Asian countries. St. Camillus himself uttered that one day, “the small seed of our institution” will reach the whole world. In our effort “to gain more hands of St. Camillus” to serve the sick, Fr. Luigi, MI, I and went on a missionary trip Indonesia from April 09 to 30, 2008. The purpose of the trip was to see, observe and study the possibility for a future presence of our Order in the country.

Fr. James Ferry, MM, the vicar for religious in the Archdiocese of Manila, facilitated the annual retreat of the religious of the Philippine Province at the St. Scholastica’s Spirituality Center in Tagaytay City from March 31 to April 4, 2008.

There was sadness and tears when I heard of the death of Fr. Ernesto Nidini, MI. He was such a good and non-assuming guy. We worked and lived together in Bangalore, India for six months in 1985.
In my opinion, without the dedication and tireless effort of Ernie, the Indian delegation would never have flourished like it is now. He was its soul and spirit.
May you enjoy your eternal reward in heaven, Ernie.

Memoirs of the LCF General Assembly in Mottinello, Italy
The Lay Camillian Family International General Assembly for 2008 was held in Mottinello, Italy from April 21 to 26, 2008. It was attended by the National Presidents, Vice-Presidents, and Spiritual Assistants of the different countries where the LCF exists. The Phiippined LCF was represented by Atty. Diosdado R. Mendoza, Preswident, and Fr. Marcelo L. Pamintuan, Jr., M.I., Spiritual Assistant. They left for Italy on April 18, 2008 with stopover in Milan where they were first housed in Casa di Cura di San Camillo, a prestigious and first class hospital in Milan, Italy, managed and supervised by the Camillian Fathers and Brothers.

3rd Summer Camp of Youth and Children with Disabilities in Calbayog
The St. Camillus Socio Pastoral Office, the Liliane Foundation Philippines (LFP), and the Friends of the Sick-Camillian Family (FOTS-CF) organized the 3rd Summer Camp of Youth and Children with Disabilities last May 16-17, 2008 at the Blessed Enrico Rebuschini Formation Center, Brgy. Manguinoo, Calbayog City. This year’s theme was “Pagkaurosa Pagkiwa para sa Pagmangno san Kabataan nga may Kasampilan” (Unity in Action for the Care of Children with Disabilities). More than 100 LFP beneficiaries with their parents attended the two-day activity.
