Urbanites call this party time; the rural folks, sleeping time. Anything could happen at half past ten o’clock in the evening, whether decreed by one’s own will or by one’s own fate. The experience could be either agonizing or joyful. Each one has a choice, in the end.
Beaming and radiant. This was how the witnesses described St. Camillus’s face when he resigned his soul into the hands of his Creator at 10:30 p.m. on July 14, 1614. Indeed, the founder of the “fathers of happy death” died happily himself. There could be no other amazing experience than this. Of course, it was our Saint’s choice to die happy.

“We are called to serve and not to be served”
Our life as religious should be centered on Jesus who came not to be served but to serve. It is in these words that Jesus declares his purpose and mission. We too have to anchor our life of service to others in this declaration of Jesus.
The greatest service that all of us can afford to give to others is our personal witnessing to the love of Jesus.

‘TANONG MO KAY KAMILO’
The celebration of the Feast of our beloved Founder was something new for the scholastics. It was neither an apostolate nor a ritualistic admiration of St. Camillus but a Quiz Bee. And the constestants? Our own personnel in the St. Camillus Provincialate Compound here in Loyola. The community decided it was time to celebrate and share the spirit of St. Camillus and we did that in an entertaining way.

Molave, Molave!
The words do not refer to a tree but to a theater guild that performed in the auditorium of the SCPHC campaigning for awareness of the plight of sex workers. Their piece entitled “Ang Parokyano at ang Pokpok” revolved around the dialogue between the customer and the prostitute. It was shown for five straight days from June 28 – July 2 exclusively for PUP students majoring in theater arts.

Seminarians go on a date
Want to spice up your love-life? Have a date often. But a different kind of date, a sweeter way of saying “I love you.”
In collaboration with the parish of St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows, St. Camillus College Seminary Community represented by Fr. Renante T. Sentillas, Fr. Renato D. Maliwat and Fr. Rodel R. Enriquez and the 4th and 3rd year seminarians had a wonderful date with the parishioners, especially the sick. The activity aimed to promote a closer relationship between the Camillian community and the parish of St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows. The Passionist Fathers with the laity and the SCCS community envision together a dream of love towards the sick – the men and women cut off from their normal lives by their infirmities. If they can’t come to the church, we bring the Church to them.

“Survivor Baguio”
The month of June had simply swiftly passed like a rose that withers in the novitiate garden. In spite of that, it left a memory in us novices beginning June 6, 2010 when we first arrived in the novitiate.
After celebrating our first “month-sary”, we underwent several activities, one of which is the continuation of the twice-a-week apostolate in the hospitals of SLU and Notre Dame. Then, we joined the ICANPB (Inter-Congregation Association of the Novices and Postulants in Baguio). Last July 3, 2010 was the acquaintance party at the Brothers of Charity formation house attended by different congregations – FC, OFM Cap, SIHM, ICM, MIC, MI. The celebration was indeed a wonderful sharing of religious experiences. Part of the gathering was the election of a new set of officers for 2010. Our very own novice Errol Salcedo was elected President; Bro. Ariel, FC, was the Vice- President. Novice Lucky Degillo was voted as treasurer. Likewise, different representatives were nominated by the group. Fr. Ruben Mandin, MI is the group adviser.
Four days after the acquaintance party the new set of ICANPB officers held their first meeting at the St. Camillus Novitiate House.
