Lenten Recollection

In observance of the Lenten season, the chaplaincy office sponsored a half-day recollection last March 20, 2009 at the Chapel of the Divine Healer. It was attended by a good number of parishioners. The facilitator, Bro. Allan Pancho of the Lord’s Flock charismatic community, presented to us two simple questions: “What makes you happy? Why does it make you happy?” and invited us to reflect and answer them truthfully. The religious activity culminated with a Holy Mass officiated by the chaplain himself, Fr. Tex Buntol, MI.

Birthday celebration

March 24, 2009 was a very special day for all of us as we celebrated the 38th birthday of our beloved chaplain, Fr. Tex.
A Thanksgiving Mass was officiated by the celebrant in the chapel at 12:15 noon. Mass-goers greeted him after the Mass as their gesture of love and support.

Part of the celebration was a get-together dinner at DMC Tree Park & Healing Garden. It was attended by different groups serving the chapel: Divine Healer choir, lay ministers, lectors, chapel volunteers, Lay Camillian Family members, DMC employees, friends, and the Chief of Hospital, who stayed and enjoyed the celebration up to the finale number.

The night glowed with songs, dances and birthday wishes from friend-priests, friends in and out of DMC, Fr. Ivo Anselmi,MI, key officials of DMC, and Fr. Tex’s  family in Kinoguitan, Misamis Oriental through a video presentation. The Divine Healer Choir staged their beautiful songs (CDs are about to be released for fund raising campaign). According to the celebrant, who is a convincing bass singer himself, it was their simple gesture of thanking the people who supported their cause.

We know we have made our chaplain happy, though the kind of celebration was the least he expected. It was indeed a surprise for him. Well, it was just our simple gesture of showing how much he is loved, cared for and supported.

Sail on, Fr. Tex
