Fr. Manny as Godparent
Maximillian Julius Bongard Schwalbe, a German, was baptized at the St. Camillus Church in Essen-Heidhausen last April 4. The parents of the newly baptized, Thomas and Angelika, requested Fr. Manny to be godparent. The baptismal ceremony was presided over by Fr. Dietmar Weber.
Ruhrlandklinik
After more than 90 years of being supported by the German Insurance
Rheinland ( Deutschen Rentenversicherung Rheinland), the Ruhrlandklinik
Hospital is now under the support of the Essen University Clinic
(Universitätsklinikum Essen) effective April 1, 2009. According to
surveys, Ruhrlandklinik is one of the Top Ten Outstanding hospitals in
North Rhein Wesfalia. Three years ago, the hospital is certified for
its quality management. Its second certification is scheduled this May.
Bro. Peter Schiffer in Essen
After long years of stay in Mönchengladbach,
Bro. Peter Schiffer belongs now to the Essen Camillian community. He
transferred last March 26, the feast day of St. Ludger, patron saint of
Essen Werden. Bro. Peter is working in “Notel Köln”, a place where
patients with drug dependency problems are accommodated.
New Applicant
Hans Klein, 45 years old, arrived in Essen last
April 20 intending to observe and eventually to apply to join the
Camillian Order. He came from Würzburg in Bavaria. He finished his
studies on American culture and history.
Birthdays
The Provincial of the German Province, Fr.
Dietmar Weber, celebrated his 63rd birthday last April 23. Due to
hectic schedules, the Filipinos and German friends scheduled the
celebration on June 13. Last May 14, Fr. Manny Tamayo turned 46 and the
birthday celebration took place in a Croatian restaurant in front of
Kamillushaus. This coming June 1st, Fr. Jörg Gabriel will tur 40. Fr.
Gabriel is the newly assigned chaplain in St. Joseph Hospital in
Werden. Soon he will finish his doctorate in spirituality.
