Kamillusfest 2009


Schedule of activities in Essen:


July 8 (Wednesday)

At 3:00pm, a special Mass for the sick and elderly was celebrated in St. Camillus Church with Fr. Manny Tamayo as the main celebrant and Fr. Jörg Gabriel as concelebrant. A good number of attendees from Paul Hannig Heim and Augustinus (both are homes for the aged) attended the celebration. During the celebration, the sacrament of Holy Anointing was administered. Afterwards, everybody gathered in the Parish Hall for cakes and coffee.

July 10 (Friday)

At 7:00pm, Fr. Dietmar Weber made a summarized presentation about the worldwide ministry of the Camillians, from the past up to the present time. It was held in St. Camillus Church. The presentation was intended to prepare the parishioners for the coming festivity.

July 12 (Sunday)

At 10:00am, a High Mass was celebrated in the Church to anticipate the feast day of St. Camillus. It was presided over by Bishop Ceslaw Kozon from Copenhagen, Denmark. During the celebration, the religious renewed their vows. The Parish Choir and the Filipino Community Choir took charge of the liturgical songs. The celebration continued after the Holy Mass where everybody gathered in front of Kamillushaus for a typical German salo-salo (Erbsensuppe and Gulaschsuppe).

July 14 (Tuesday)

At 10:00am, Fr. Manny Tamayo, assisted by Bro. Eusebio Cabonegro, administered the sacrament of Holy Anointing to the bed-ridden sick and elderly in Paul Hannig Heim. The Holy Mass was celebrated in the afternoon.

July 16 (Thursday)

At 10:00am, a Holy Mass for the patients and employees of the Fachklinik Kamillushaus was celebrated in the Church, with Fr. Weber as the main celebrant, and Fr. Manny as concelebrant. A bountiful lunch for everybody was served in the garden.
