Hospital Employees Hone Communication Skills for Better Service

At least 76 employees of St. Camillus Hospital of Mati attended the Effective Communication Workshop last July 16 and 17.

Ms. Resci Angelli Rizada, RN, who happens to be the reigning Mutya ng Dabaw, served as resource person.  She discussed topics related to personality development.  She stressed the importance of knowing oneself and gave inputs on effective communication with other people, particularly with the hospital patients and clients.  She also discussed  basic telephone courtesies.

Hopefully, the seminar would encourage the hospital employees to grow in self-esteem and to practice with confidence what they have learned. Fr. Bong  Pamintuan, the hospital director, explained that the workshop was in keeping with the hospital’s vision-mission, which includes improving the caring and respectful attitudes of the personnel towards patients and their relatives and towards one another as healthcare providers.

The seminar ended with the giving of certificates by Fr. Angel Crisostomo, assisted by Mrs. Imelda Custodio and Mrs. Virginia Concha, our administrator and nursing director respectively.
