To Father Reji - Congratulations, Thank You, and Bon Voyage
Written by Camillian Update

In the summer of 2004, Fr. Reji Chacko, MI,  arrived in the Philippines to study at De La Salle University.  After four-and-a-half years of grueling work, he has achieved his goal: a doctorate in Counseling Psychology.  We congratulate him for his accomplishment!

But the end of his studies meant the end of his residency in Our Lady of La Paz Parish.  He left on a jet plane last August 27, 2009 and returned to his native India.

For more than four years, Fr. Reji dwelt among the La Paz parishioners, celebrating the Eucharist, hearing confession, laying his hands on the people in healing Masses, and spending time just being with them.  After his last Sunday Mass on August 24, the parishioners extended to him a deeply felt gratitude for the blessing of his quiet and gentle presence.  They bade him good-bye and wished him the companionship of Our Lady of La Paz and Good Voyage as he journeys on in his life, particularly in his ministry among the people with HIVAIDS.  If ever his voyage leads him back to the Philippines, he will surely find in La Paz a welcoming home…
