Fr. Rolly Shares

“I feel I am trusted,” said Fr. Rolly. “And this trust given to me makes me feel responsible and accountable in everything I do,” he added.

Fr. Rolly shared about his experiences in his community. For him, these supplement his deep desire and joy to serve not only his community but also the entire Province. No wonder, he commits himself, very dedicatedly for that matter, to be always available for whatever needs the Province requires of him. Thanks to his community!

Fr. Rolly belongs to the Provincialate Community. He has been there for almost eight years now, since its official establishment in year 2000.  At present, he is its local superior, succeeding Fr. Ivo, who served for two terms.

The Provincialate Community is composed of Fr. Ivo Anselmi, MI, Provincial Superior of the Philippine Province, Fr. Rolly Fernandez, MI, Provincial Procurator, Fr. Amelio Troietto, MI, and Fr. Francis Zhang, MI. Fr. Amelio exercises his ministry in Dolores, Eastern Samar while Fr. Francis is doing his pastoral exposure in Mabuhay Chaplaincy Community.

Given the diverse demands of their ministries, they make it a point to ensure quality time on the occasions they are together. “Quality time like the one being shared by a family,” Fr. Rolly explained.

Technically, it is only Fr. Ivo and Fr. Rolly who are based at present in the Provincialate. Their erratic schedules never seem to let up.  “But whenever we get together, we get to enjoy light talks about anything,” quipped Fr. Rolly.  “We share with each other our experiences and challenges in our ministry, our outlooks on the future of the Province; we talk about life and religious life nowadays, and about our family experiences. And we laugh out loud!” revealed the delighted Fr. Rolly referring to the kind of nurturing they do for their community life.
