Pilosopo Republic (SCCS Inbox)
Written by Sch. Placido De Jose, MI

“I didn’t feel bad! I felt very very bad!”  With these words, be it a joke or not, a sincere public apology should be made.  The pilosopo republic hereby apologizes to Bro. Dan Cancino, MI, for not including him in the list of professors and instructors attached in the last inbox.  Mea Culpa!

By the way, what’s the real news? It’s already July, what could we expect? Of course, the pilosopo republic could not also be spared from celebrating the feast day of our founder.  It’s just once a year.  Right?

And so, it began with our traditional triduum in honor of St. Camillus de Lellis that happened on July 10 – 12.  The republic’s feast day celebration was advanced, having been held on the 13th instead of the 14th of July.  Not because another strong typhoon came nor President Macapagal Arroyo said so, but because most of the Fathers had to pack their things for Australia to meet the Pope and the World Youth Day delegations.  Hope they extended our regards.

Nonetheless, it was still a meaningful celebration.  It was graced by the presence of the former Rector and “balikbayan,” Fr. Aristelo Miranda, MI, who presided at the Holy Eucharist.  It was a whole day celebration that featured a talent showdown, where each and everyone gave their best in creating (LIKHA), singing (AWIT), and strumming (TIPA).  Sad to say, though, the SADSAD ni KAMILO was postponed… because of the rain.

But even if it turned out to be a sad sad experience, there was still reason for us to celebrate.  What’s important was that we enjoyed the day and spent it for the honor and glory of God and his servant Camillus.  Just keep it up, bros!

Till next…
